This course offers strategies on how to create a safe learning environment in the classroom. Conversely, this course also states what to avoid by showing ways in which a feeling of safety can be ruined. Based on the principle that students cannot learn if they do not feel safe, this course provides educators with a variety of methods for designing an environment that promotes positivity, safety, and comfort so student learning is more likely to take place. - Students will learn strategies to create a safe learning environment as well as what to avoid.
- Students will be able to apply new strategies to create a safe learning environment to help their own students improve learning and achievement.
- Students will develop skills to reflect on & improve their own teaching practices.

- Analyzing effective and ineffective ways for students to feel safe in the classroom.
- Understanding and overcoming obstacles associated with creating a safe learning environment for all learners.
- Strategies to create a sense of comfort, positivity, safety and trust in the classroom environment to improve student learning and academic achievement.
- Evaluating your classroom space and current practices used to create a safe learning environment and reflecting on any changes that need to be made.
- Learning ways to support and challenge students intellectually and emotionally while still creating a community of trust and acceptance.
- Becoming aware of students’ fears to counteract them in the classroom and increase the feeling of safety.

Exchange Policy
Students are able to exchange one course for another within 30 days of registration as long as the course price is the same and the student does not change the University Partner. Transfer Policy
Students that would like to transfer their course from one university partner to another have the opportunity to do so within the first 30 days of registering for a course.
